Anyone use a project digital VTF gauge ?

What do you think of it?
When setting VTF do you sit it on the platter with/without the matt? Or do you chock it to platter height between the platter and tone arm and set VTF that way?

 

My digital scale isn't a Pro-Ject brand but it is very similar. I have many times used it on the bare platter and on the mat. I also like the method on placing a block of Magic Eraser on the gauge, so the top of the Magic Eraser is at platter height when the gauge is sitting on the plinth. All these methods produce the same results for me.

As for the Pro-Ject gauge and what to think of it - It seems fine but is very similar to much cheaper devices.
