I am using a Mission Cyrus II, and have been since 1991.

Great little thing with an outstanding built in phono stage.

Minimalistic, not ideal if you like lots of bright lights!!

Roksan K3. Did a lot of online research before I purchased it. All reviews were very positive so I got one... love it!

I got it a few years ago from a local dealer (traded in an NAD C316BEE). I have been very pleased with its performance. It also seems to have some power to spare. It has a respectable MM phono stage as well, although I use a Pro-Ject Tube Box S.

Yep, keep being seduced by a new valve amp, but can't bring myself to do it.

This little beauty just sits perfectly in my modest set up and listening space, love it.

In November I was seduced to spend the princely sum of £199 on a Marantz PM6005. I liked the idea of the convenience of digital inputs (which also made use of one of my favourite DAC chips, the CS4398) and the idea of protection circuitry, etc.

Wired it up and was instantly disappointed. It did improve marginally with some usage but it was nowhere near as talented as my refurbed Cyrus One.

Went to turn it on a few weeks ago, less than three months after I purchased it, and no sound output. Nada. Took it back to the retailer and its been in for repair for almost three weeks.

So much for modernity, I should never have even considered moving on from my Cyrus amps!

    Interesting.

I bought my son a starter system for his 21st last year.

It is a PM 6005, Project Carbon Debut Carbon and Dali Sensor 3 speakers.

It was a great price, as a bundle from Richer Sounds.

I must admit to being impressed with it straight out of the box, and the boy is delighted with it, well on his way to being a vinyl addict.

However, not in the same league as the Cyrus.

I had my turntable serviced about 4 years ago and took the Cyrus in two as it wasn't working.

Turned out to just be a fuse.

When I went to collect it the three guys in the shop were all "getting on down" to it in the demo room with the comment, "Punchy little thing, isn't it?"

I love this old girl, just hope I can keep her going.

Yes, an NAD D 3020. Very nice small system unit: 30WPC, onboard DAC, remote control, and dedicated sub output.

The two best ones I heard in my system: an Audiomat Prelude Reference which I had on loan for a very short while (long time ago) and my current integrated which I have been listening to for many years, the APL UA-S1. I am sold on the convenience of integrated amps.

I haven't owned or heard that many amp's in my lifetime so this answer is purely subjective on the sound portion, but I really do like the amp. So much so that I purchased a second with each being used in different rooms. I rarely used the sonic hologram but, phono stage, tone controls, loudness button, using as a preamp etc...are all features I'm frequently using. No plans to upgrade.

I go back and forth on the phono stage. It's got good detail but is a little noisier than I'd prefer. But wih my Tavish, things do get lost. So this is probably the better all-around solution.

I had an Arcam and loved it. Switched to McIntosh separates a few months ago, big difference to me in sound. Makes me love my vinyl so much more.

Did you ever compare the Mac separates that you bought with the Mac integrated before buying the separates?
