Anyone using the Rega Saturn-R as a DAC?

It has four digital inputs so you can plug your streamer into it, yes? Anyone doing this?

 

No one?

If you own a Saturn-r, no reason for the Rega DAC, or am I missing something?

 

I used one for demo at my shop of course. It sounds great.

The Saturn-R is essentially an Apollo transport on top of a Rega DAC. The DAC-R is more recent and might have an advantage sonically, but it would be too close to hear a difference. Both sound better than the Apollo alone. I have customers who own the Apollo-R and DAC-R together. That nets them a great CD player plus four more digital inputs.

I have the old Saturn and the Rega DAC. The DAC is also available for the computers and the Chromecast.
