"In Bloom" is the only track here that ever did anything for me.

I was not a huge fan at the time.My musical tastes were already cut on late 60s-70s rock but I did like it.It ushered in the last hurrah of real rock music.

Music of my youth, grew up with it, loved it and understood it as my own, but I wish it wasn't, wish I hadn't and no longer do.

    Best song: Endless, Nameless.

I think Stay Away is the one slightly weak track. It's ferocious and all, but it's filler, an years old riff and lyrically an assemblage of cool oneliners (which Kurt did now and again).

The Classic Albums DVD focusing on the album is pretty good.

The 4 single tracks actually get the most votes. Bob Dylan's favorite Polly or the setlist regulars Drain You and Breed are at least as good imho.

After listening to "Nevermind", this thread made me spin my old Sub Pop CD of "Bleach". It's such a lovely record. I find it strange that "Blew" opened the album when it used to close the live shows at the time. "Nevermind" & "In Utero" had perfect opening tracks though.

Nevermind was all over KROQ in Los Angeles. I recall turning to my wife and saying "somebody's been listening to the Plastic Ono Band album."

I feel like this album has aged very well due to it's catchy melodies. But the lyrics to it's songs are very odd. Much of it is "word salad". There are bits and pieces that feel like little "statements", but a lot of the lyrics make no sense (to me).

I was a big fan of grunge at the time but I don't think that most of the genre's music has aged well. There are a few standouts (like Nirvana) and a bunch of bands that I now find mostly pleasant but forgettable (Silverchair, Bush, etc).

Picked'em all, absolutely no filler in my view.
Although it's my least favorite Nirvana album, it's great all the way through.
Few albums get such a regular rotation here. My little daughter (3 1/2 yrs) is a huge Nirvana fan (amongst others), too.

When I saw the Smells Like Teen Spirit video on MTV in September of '91 it kind of blew my mind because it didn't really sound like anything else that MTV was playing at the time. It was kind of a breathe of fresh air.
