I don't care about the honours list, don't believe in the monarchy, but I thought some of you may be interested in this.

Honours for Gibb, Starr and Bussell

Gibb in his usual manner gives credit to Mo and Robin;

Barry Gibb has certainly earned one, though I can’t help thinking Robin would’ve told Brenda where to stick it.

 

Looking at the thread title, I kinda figured we were talking about Gibb, but I secretly revelled in the delightful absurdity of imagining Barry Manilow knighted.

Everyone has their own tastes in music but to not give credit to the impact Barry Gibb along with his brothers had to the music world is just petty.

Sir Barry Gibb is in every way due the ceremonial honor as is Paul and Ringo.

I liked Andy Gibb....nobody ever mentions him...he should have been included in the Bee Gees even if he was much younger.

Born in England, moved to Australia, moved back to England. Plus, Australia is a commonwealth nation. As far as I know, the Queen can knight Australians.

And fabulously, Marc Almond (ex Soft Cell) has received an OBE.

 

For a minute I thought it was Sir Barry Wom.
