Can't think of any others. Plenty of debut albums I prefer to the rest of the catalogue though.

Edit - Ah, I've thought of one - Weather Report.

Can’t think of any. But if you’d said “artists where you only like the early era” there would be candidates.

Horses for courses, obvs. BSP is an example of an indie band that I have followed from the beginning and stuck with. They have shown genuine progression through the years, IMO.

Yes, I'd agree with that - they progressed, but at the expense of being exciting to listen to.

I am not into everything they’ve done, but I certainly see worth beyond the debut album. But I would imagine that this thread is going to attract many back-and-forth comments such as this. It is a bit pointless, really, as it all comes down to personal taste at the end of the day.

Yes, of course - and I have to qualify my comment by saying I haven't listened to anything by them for the last couple of releases. That first album is quite something - love the near chaos!

Prog Rock is filled with bands that fit this criteria. Either they disbanded right after or they could never capture the magic of their debut. The Vertigo label especially has a ton of those.

    Coldplay.

I absolutely loved Parachutes, their debut.

The 2nd album, I enjoyed maybe half of it, and after that, I got off the train.
