Ha! Besides you and I, how many people would buy Amy's old albums in a big old box set? No harm in wishing though!

Now, that is one thing I would be willing to part with quite a large-ish sum of money for.

Allen Toussaint, The Complete Warner Brothers recordings on vinyl, in a box. With Live In Philadelphia 1975 and a disc of outtakes and rarities if there are any.

His major catalog is split between Sony and Curb.

I'm surprised that there is no vinyl box set with all Michael Jackson albums starting with OTW and ending with Invincible.
They could even put History as one album in there and leave out the "Best Of" part.

I have no doubt we'll see this. No way the estate will miss an opportunity to milk the catalogue further. If they include a nice book I think it would sell though.

And Curb doesn't seem to play nice with licensing their artists for things like this.

Fans of singer-songwriter Gene Thomas and also his cult following 1960s duo group Gene & Debbe would enjoy an official box set compiling the recordings of Gene Thomas. It's up to these labels to release quality music instead of the more recent dregs. Even Gene's later material proves that he remained a talented songwriter up until the very end of his life.

Not a fan of the idea wasting the "box" concept on a mere re-releasing of the same old albums the public used to be able to buy one-by-one, even if there are plenty of low-expectation high-rollers would jump on them. I'd certainly be all for re-approaching an artists' span with the releasing label including all the other singles, mixes and promotionally-released live tracks, in the box. Even a short catalog from Nick Drake benefited greatly from that extra disc - which gave the liner notes extra reasons to be more thorough!

The much more controversial-but-bonus-filled option might be two versions, both making room for extras in the box, but the further materials only available separately. Gives fans the extras, with the option to buy or not buy the same albums they already supported the group with in the first place. Give curious neophytes a legit box to get their appreciation started. Give the label a prestigious product fairly priced, and pitchable to two types of customers.
