I've been doing that for Neil Young religiously.

Last year I realized, "I haven't liked most of Neil Young's albums for the past 20 years". I buy it, make it halfway, and then it goes on the shelf.

Seems Paul has been pretty quiet lately, except for his I Don't Care's release. I was really hoping there would be a live DVD of The Replacement Tour a few years ago.

I bought the 2 Drug Cabin digital albums as soon as I saw them up in Bandcamp... Only for them to be rereleased as vinyl some months later :realmad::realmad::realmad::cussing: Ended up paying around $100 for both (including digital and LPs of course). Never again :rolleyes:

In the past it would have been Macca, ELO, The Police, The Jam, Oasis, Blur, Simple Minds and U2. Nowadays there's very few artists or bands that excite me to the extent that I'm counting down the days to their next album release. Maybe it's an age thing. I'm looking forward to Noel Gallagher's next album. After that I'm struggling.

The last two Oasis records left me kind of cold, but solo Noel is an auto-buy for me. He's two-for-two in my book, so far.

I agree on both points you make :righton: still not had a chance to see Noel in concert. Always preferred his voice over Liam's. There's a clip on you tube where Noel sings 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' with U2. I thought he'd struggle but he's brilliant.

I really missed Liam's vocals on the more uptempo Noel solo stuff like "You Know We Can't Go Back," but aside from that and the recycled "Lock All The Doors," I think Noel has been mostly writing stuff in a style that suits his voice, so it works. Noel has been great live the three times I've seen him solo...like the weight of the world has been lifted off his shoulders not having to deal with his brother on tour. He's as stoic onstage as ever, but just his mood and the overall vibe of the performances was night and day from Oasis gigs. Really enjoyed those shows.

Another artist (I just thought of) whose new album I'm looking forward to is Paul Heaton. His last one with Jacqui Abbott was excellent. Saw them in concert and they were brilliant.

His mood and attitude has changed when he gets interviewed. Maybe it's an age thing but he comes across a lot better now.
