I check the recently added section every day and now it's swamped with music. It would be nice to just see equipment and have the music separate. Maybe I'm missing something...

No new equipment additions in the last 24 hours is why. Try searching the Last 3 Days and you will see the latest equipment listing(s).

Dolsey01- yes I know what you mean, we have had a lot of music listings the last few days (which is great!) but it obscures the gear.

I agree that it would be nice to differentiate the music listings from the gear listings in an intuitive way.

Carolyn and I will be headed to Axpona next week and this will make for some good airplane conversation, Will you be there?

In the meantime, do you have any suggestions for how you would like to see it broken out?

I've been trying to find a reasonable flight to go to Chicago but given the small window I have to work with due to other obligations, I'm striking out. I'm actually from there so that complicates things even more, I can't stealthily fly in and out.

My preference is to have media and gear separate but I guess that is what I have been used to with the previous sites.

I wish you luck. Audiogon is torture to look at... I don't even try. It's time for something new.

Hey guys, I just wanted to chime in and mention we have great news here at AudioFlea!

We have just migrated AudioFlea over to Amazon cloud hosting, and man is it awesome. The speed of the site is way up, and it's running great.

We also did a complete re-architecture of the codebase, which is super exciting. Things will keep getting better as we keep adding features and growing the community.

As an update, the site is now TOTALLY FREE for all to use. This is temporary while we focus on building the community and making this the best online audio marketplace out there.

And with that, I have one question for all:

What is the one thing that an online hifi marketplace would have to make it great for YOU?

The one thing? I guess it comes down to security . . . that members have been vetted, that feedback is genuine, that the site has methods to help, and will help, in a meaningful way, if things go wrong.

    Mike-48: Great feedback, thank you!

We have built out own feedback system at AudioFlea, but the problem is that since we are new, the members haven't had a chance to build their feedback yet.

I think the approach that we will take is to pull feedback from eBay and the "other" audio marketplace site out there so that members have their built up credibility established. Do you think this sounds like a good solution?

Regarding helping in a genuine way, if you click our "Contact Us" page, we have a phone # and email address which is a direct line in. Our customers are our most prized possession and we will do anything we can to help.

I would love to hear from some more feedback from the community about what makes a great marketplace site!!

    Hi Todd,

The only drawback I can see with importing feedback is that the "other" audio marketplace(s) might have altered reality feedback to remove one or more truthful negative postings. Speaking from experience here.

Great news - The AudioFlea "Multi Sell" is back online!

Also known as "Power Sell", this tool makes it so easy for you to sell several things at once, without leaving the page.

You only need to enter in your shipping and payment settings one time and they will save to your account!

Give it a try and let me know if you have any feature requests!

Hi everyone, Just want to let you know that AudioFlea is now a completely free site. No listing fees on either the buy or sell side.

I will look at your site. I am not adverse to paying a nominal fee if an item sells through your site. You get paid when I get paid, and it puts us on the same side of the table. I don't think I am alone in this feeling.

There are other sites that offer free listings among the audiophile community. For the most part traffic is low, and sales seem to lag behind the 2 biggies.

What are you doing to promote your site as a realistic alternative and to build traffic ? For example, I am active on several audio forums, yet this 1yr old+ thread is the FIRST time I have seen any reference to Audio Flea.

Problem with pulling feedback from other sites, is the feedback may be considered proprietary content.

My main criticism of feedback on Ebay is the inability to leave anything other than positive feedback for a buyer. I have dealt with my share of dishonest buyers who have tried to negotiate a lower price after the sale, to extort a refund etc etc. Feedback on Agon is frequently adjusted for paying customers. Neither solution is best.

Discogs is a world wide site, in fact I think they focus more on Non US business than US business and they allow 2 way feedback. Seems to work and keeps everyone honest. Their gear site will have the inherent advantage of a built in audience of every current discogs member.

Good Luck. I'll take a look and maybe list something to see what happens.
