agree totally. GruvGlide blows away any brush...not even close.

I purchased the new brush. It does a great job with static. Nevet had the old so i can't compare.

I've never had good luck with any of these brushes-- maybe it is me. I've had various ones for years, going back to the Decca, the Hunt, AQ, that "big brush" (with grounding wire), etc. The best they seem to do is push surface lint around; to get it off, it seems you have to use a sideways motion of the brush, which seems to be at odds with good practice.

I've been using this for a few months ever since getting back into vinyl. Seems to do a decent job with static but if the AudioQuest would be an improvement maybe I'll give it a shot.

That's the same brush you can buy under an nth number of brand names. I have that one too. As good as any other CF brush, all from the same factories in China anyway.

Yep. I have it's twin brother, branded by TONAR, but despite having a jewel box case it looks exactly the same.

I wonder how long it will be before we see a Crossley knock-off.

Man, I bought my Audioquest brush about ten years ago, and it still looks like new!

I dunno... to be in-line with the Crosley branding, wouldn't their knock-off have to be re-engineered in such a way as to destroy records? :wtf:

Isn't there a youtube video of some guy using sandpaper to clean his records??:D I think he called it "resurfacing."

I think their brushes stink for records and I'm surprised it took them 35 years to realize they were creating static. It didn't take me that long....

I saw that. It was a joke video of some guy demonstrating the "proper" way to clean records.

I wish the original Decca record brush was still available. The bristles were softer than the ones on these clones.

If you seriously want THE softest bristles then head towards shaving brushes. Buy a silver tip badger brush. I have the biggest Kent that's soft as a cloud. But I'm not using that $300 brush for records.

Gee, I only use mine on 78's. Maybe I should try it on my mono WHITE ALBUM tonight :nyah:

Considering the filth on new and used records, that's a wise move. FWIW there is a new synthetic brush out that's just as soft at the tips as some of the $200-300 shaving brushes I used to own.

Considering that shaving brushes do shed their bristles - and quite a lot in the case of my Edwin Jagger, I can't really recommend using them for cleaning records.

You have a defective brush, probably.

Possibly, but unlikely considering my 30 something years of experience with wet shaving. You must be uncommonly lucky.

They invented the double-row carbon fiber record brush.

My Kent hasn't. My other two ironically hasn't shed but the brush itself has dislodged from the entire brush handle.:cussing:Not cheap either. I've come across forty year old brushes that I've had a bear of a time restoring as the brush heads didn't want to come out. Cheap glue now days I guess.
