It was actually the discussion earlier in the thread that prompted me to check out his music. Man, I don't know how I missed this dude but his stuff is heavy! His piano playing is beautiful and he's an extraordinary vocalist. I recommend everyone pick up that 3CD set as well as the massive performance of "Femenine". I read somewhere that he did a companion piece called "Masculine" but I don't suppose a recorded performance exists. There is also a book available on Amazon that I am definitely going to get... seems he had a fascinating but troubled life.
I knew him well. He was a professor of mine in Buffalo and later a friend in NYC. This was before he’d lost it. He was a very unique person.
I'm sure you already know (and I've not yet heard this myself), but a new recording of Eastman was just released!

Frozen Reeds and ReR Megacorp are both doing good work to promote the recent releases. Anyone not following the Frozen Reeds twitter account is missing out on some fun stuff.
Yeah, some class releases on Frozen Reeds. I recently got the Thomas Brinkmann set and also the Roland Kayn box that you posted about in the long and winding thread. I heard some samples and was sold!
Morton Feldman: Triadic Memories by Marilyn Nonken on Mode This is just a 1 disc excerpt, a complete version spans two discs. This is not quite as sparse as other Feldman late works, not as long either. I don't have a copy of the complete work so I don't know if they just picked out the more active parts for this release. A lot of time is spent in the low end of the piano.
