    Hi folks,

I was listening to my homemade CDR of "Purple Rain" driving home tonight and I had put the B-Side "17 Days" after "Let's Go Crazy" on the disc.

It just flowed and sounded PERFECT. It was as if it was meant to be the 2nd song on the album! It's such a good song regardless, that I've always been stunned it was left off the album.

So, I thought it would make an interesting topic..

What B-Sides or Outtakes were SO good that they made you say "I can't believe they didn't find a spot for that on the album!" And if you want to go further, where would you have put them in the tracklisting on the albums they were recorded for?

"Hey Hey What Can I Do" also comes to mind, it certainly would've fit well on LZ III..

For "Purple Rain", I would also add "Erotic City" to this list. I actually like "Erotic City" better than "Darling Nikki" and would rather have had that to fill the "dirty" song slot on the album.

Wow! I'm surprised I'm the first to mention any b-side from Paul McCarney's "Off The Ground' album.

"Flying To My Home" by McCartney would have been one of the best songs on Flowers in the Dirt.

The Monkees' "Goin' Down" should have made it to Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.

Surely there was a Davy Jones cut that could have taken the hit to make room for this gem.

First that came to mind...I still remember buying the 4 box set just to hear this song on CD.

Shirley Brown-Yes Sir Brother- It's the flip of 1974's "Woman to Woman" I always liked this track and wondered why it didn't show up on the album.

Most of the bonus tracks on the remaster of Yes' Tormato should have been on the original album, IMHO. I love the album the way it is, but it actually could have been much stronger and gone in a different direction had they selected the songs different. Some of the tunes that didn't make the final cut are REALLY good.

I thought 'We Love You' was the A side?
    'Dandelion' was the B side.

That's the first one that comes to mind for me as well. It may have been the best record Stevie ever made.

At least these two tracks were given life on Sting's "Bring on the Night" live set.

    Negative.
"Dandelion" "Child of the Moon" and "We Love You" all sound great when added to Her Satanic Majesties Request though, as someone pointed out to me a few months ago
