    A question for @maccawings:

If I am understanding the situation correctly, there are 2 releases between now and the end of the year. Neither of the releases are the new album or an archive. My question is, will the forthcoming announcement detail both of the releases or just the first one?

I think there is only 1 batch of releases for the rest of 2017. Not 2. The "batch" MIGHT be 8 albums in 3 physical formats (but no box set). That is what the clues are suggestive of.

However, until an announcement is made, we are still guessing.

It would be nice if there was some sort of truly comprehensive effort to make Macca's back catalog more readily available and cheaper to grab, especially all the 'unavailable on CD' songs such as singles, 12-inch remixes, b-sides, etc. in one place such as a Capitol download portal. It would be revolutionary.

    Stop with the logic, please.

Repeat the mantra: MPL is illogical. MPL is illogical. MPL is illogical. MPL is illogical. ... ;)

Now, back to the clues ...

Imagine the revenue flow from a downloads portal vs colored vinyl and other physical releases (and the associated costs of producing them)! Boom!

If you are trying to impress MPL so that they will hire you, then I can tell you that they will not. ;)

@maccawings : I don't have the Archive Collection CDs of McCartney, Band On The Run, and Pipes of Peace.
Should I buy them (in 2CDs version) now or should I wait for this upcoming announcement to..come?

My advice would be grab the 2 cd sets with bonus tracks. If I didn't already have them that's what I would do.

And I don't have a CD player, nor do I intend to buy a CD player ever.
Should I wait for the Colored Vinyl LPs of those albums? ... ;)

I'd suggest listening to them in a car, but I forgot Arnie only rides Yaks for his daily commutes.

I hope this doesn't spell the end for the Coming Soon cards, which presumably will now be beamed to our devices via satellite?

I think it was smart getting rid of the coming soon cards

If you forgot, there was no Coming Soon card included with the Flowers In The Dirt set. So we've been card-free for over 2 years now. What a tragedy... ;)

Ah, but for Flowers in the Dirt, we now know nothing was indeed Coming Soon. But now a new back catalogue era is dawning, things are now.... Coming Soon, and the wonderful cards will surely make a (digital) comeback.. ;-)

I'm still holding out hope that bonus tracks will be included on the reissues.

@Arnold Grove to clear up your confusion earlier today, @mikecarrera teased in the other thread that not only is there this upcoming mystery reissue "announcement" (coming soon) that we've been doing all the guessing and re-guessing for (but will be disappointed by)...

We also have something called "the surprise" to look forward to in December. And both he and @maccawings have said it is way better and way more exciting than "the announcement".
