Does anyone know the likelyhood of a brand new Audiotechnica AT95E being bad?
I just purchased a Teac TN 300 Turntable and it came w/ this cartridge.
I followed all the instructions supplied w/the turntable, fired it up and put a new, out of the package album on and it has a lot of distortion.I tried to go back through all of the steps balancing the tone arm and adjusting pressure.
But no - go. I have a Technichs Sa-300 Receiver using the phono input.

That turntable has a built-in preamp. Use the AUX input instead of the phono input, or bypass the preamp to use the phono input.
