forthcoming independent release of: The Iveys - Live 1966 Pete Ham Ron Griffiths Mike Gibbins David Jenkins Origins: The Iveys Anthology, Vol. 1 Live at The Empire: June 7, 1966 Neath, S. Wales
Unfortunately Bill Collins, Mike and Tom who replaced Ron after he was "not one of the boys" Badfinger documentary (Week In Week Out, BBC Wales 1987) Badfinger Doc 2 of 6 Ron is a great bassist and long playing musician, and has been in some semi-Pro bands too.
Bob Jackson shares his memories of his first band Indian Summer, playing in Ross band who opened up for Eric Clapton's 1974 USA Tour, auditioning for Badfinger opening for MAN band Oct. '74 U.K. Tour, and working up material for last album w/ Pete Ham "Headfirst" back at old Apple Studios on 3 Saville Row.
I've heard this. Great interview. It's really sad when Ron talks about getting " nudged" out of the band then hearing Come and Get It on the radio.
I've always thought Ron was a great bass player. Definitely added a lot to the Ivey's sound. I love the live Iveys show at Pete's Swansea Memorial Plaque celebration. It was great seeing Ron, Dai Jenkins and Bob Jackson together. Ron "the oldest teenager" is so completely jazzed! They sounded pretty good considering they had almost no time to practice. It's great too that Dai plays guitar in his son's band.
It's saddening that after more than 40 years after Pete's death it's still so upsetting that Bob can't even talk about it without tearing up and wanting to move on to another subject. It's horrific what happened to the band, especially to Pete and Tom, but it's a testament to what a loved and wonderful person Pete was that no one, including Joey, can seem to talk about his death without becoming overwhelmed with emotion. There are other people who commit suicide (Tom being one of them) that don't seem to evoke the same reaction. Joey has very different feelings about Tom's death, per Matovina's Without You book and through interviews on the Tragic Story of Badfinger video, and seems able to talk about it much more easily.
A variation on 1982 Tour t-shirt sold at shows. The same lettering style, with add front art from Say No More album cover North American Fall Tour 1983

In an earlier post above was a t-shirt designed by fan Linda Hornberg in 1989 [Moonshine] and given to Mike Gibbins, I believe another one like this was also given to Joey around the same time frame.
have no idea, I believe this product is overall a cd-r w/ thermal b&w print on disc and i will have a review soon. At least possibly more releases will follow after this Vol. 1 title!
Can't say an album that is all covers is that exciting to me but I will be interested to hear what folks think of it.
