Rush in category #1, if you count "Burning for Buddy" (or his book or his DVD) as Neil's.

Peter, Paul & Mary (in both categories, I believe).

Did the Radiohead bass player ever do an album? I think the other 4 did.

I think the Clash is 2.

    CSNY.

I think every lineup of the Stones.

    Roxy Music?

ELP made category #1 halfway, then got into category #2

Tony Kaye and Peter Banks might argue with this.

Ringo Starr? I must have missed Mark Rivera's solo release.

They were not in Yes at the time of the solo releases.

Banks has a few solo albums (and made the first before all the '76 solo albums). . Kaye apparently made one for the short-lived Cinema label, but it never came out.

Yeah, due to the "original band" thing. If we could count non-original members Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, they'd qualify for Category 1 as well, but the OP said "original", so there you go!

    Might not count but.....
Category 2 - The Band (original 5 lineup)

.....though Richard Manual was a posthumous live album.

  16. The Moody Blues had Denny Laine and Clint Warwick in the original band (the famous GO NOW era), and then were replaced by Justin Hayward and John Lodge in 1966.

Genesis released two albums with other members before Collins and Hackett came onboard.

YES as has been noted had Banks and Kaye as original members.

I think only #2 (each of them began releasing solo albums after they split up at the beginning of the 70's, although of course there would be a reunion later).

I'm guessing the quality of said solo effort is irrelevant...
