I never understood the appeal of Queen. From the get-go, I never got into them--didn't like their sound or their persona or their act. I never got how they were able to attract such a devoted following.

I guess I like a couple of their songs, but the sheer scale of The Eagle's popularity always mystified me.

I liked The Police early on. Then I saw them live, and they were quite literally blown away by their opening act, Black Uhuru. I could never take them seriously after that and I can't change the radio fast enough when one of their songs come on ....

Queen. I appreciate them but the songs just don't appeal to me.

Ben Harper. I have never found his musicianship or songwriting any more than mediocre and banal.

The Clash. I have most of their records and they sound nice, but I've never really gotten into them.

People always tell me I'm going to heart PJ Harvey so I bought all her albums from thrift shops (3 for $5)but I haven't got around to playing them yet.

Man, this pretty much describes me to a "T". My 'journey' started in the late '70's, and incorporated jazz, reggae, ska, and R&B by the late '80's when rock started getting stale to me, but the last decade and a half has been mostly about 'discovering' things I missed the first time around and exploring 'new' stuff from the '40's, '50's, '60's, and '70's. There's just too much music and never enough time.

Honestly, too many to mention. Just think about all the artists out there that you've heard only a few songs from, or possibly none at all.

Sample them as they come in and just hope you find a musical match - that's all we can do.

I'll go you one further on the Eagles. I actively dislike that band so much. I think they're one of the worst popular bands to come out of the 70s. I hate them so much. When I was young there was a b-side I used to like - Victim of Love, but that was it.

Rush....... I liked the music, but I just could not take Geddy Lee's vocals.

  25. Chris from Chicago

Chris from Chicago Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes

As said before me, there are plenty of bands that are pretty highly regarded that I've just never gotten into. I see no real reason to pile on with negativity.
