King Crimson is really the only band I can think of (with more than just a few albums) that never had a single stinker.

What can I say. I think it has moments of greatness.

You don't have to explain yourself, obviously, but "moments of greatness" doesn't equate to: good album. I think the consensus of Hot Space is that it's very weak. Queen has several weak albums, IMO.

Yeah, if that hadn't put out that horrible, horrible album ConstruKction Of Light.

The Young Gods and Killing Joke come real close.

    Here's a few to consider:

New Model Army have not released a *bad* album to date. Neither have Wovenhand or 16 Horsepower.

One of the bands that came to my mind, too. And they are (were?) producing good albums on a regular basis up through today.

Strongly disagree. Although it feels a bit forced, there are some great tunes and performances there. I would say ITWOP and Lizard are weaker, less focussed, and closer to derivative than TCOL.
    In my opinion, of course.

Really? I think the title track is sublime, maybe my favorite Belew-era Crimson track.

Madness and the Beat work for me. But the Specials...First album incredible, second one disappointing, third album a whole different thing. And then there's that awful "Todays Specials"...

I came to Help! later in my Beatles fandom, and damn it if it's not one of my top two or three favorite Beatles albums (along with Abbey Road and Rubber Soul). I even love the cheesy parts. No accounting for taste, I s'pose.

One hundred percent is tough. Beatles. King Crimson. Roxy music. Hendrix if we count releases while alive. Maybe Zeppelin. Some favorite bands flunk this standard but I still love them. Final cut axes pink Floyd. Something magic yanks procol. Latter gentle giant does not rate. Most yes post relayer. Steely dan pre reformation make the cut but I do not play gaucho much. Most Bruce post USA Does not rate for me

Yet the uneven artists have such great highs. Neil comes to mind. And dylan. The stones. The who.

Wow - I’vr waited a LONG time to hear someone else mention The Wildhearts! Of course we could debate Endless, Nameless - but I’ll let that slide. UP VER ‘HEARTS!

    MEAT PUPPETS

To paraphrase what some clever reviewer once said:
"Their best album is whichever one I'm playing"

Their first album was colorful goofy punk rock via Walt Disney.
After that, they went everywhere - especially far-out.
