I love it. Have not watched last nights episode though. Louis as the Mom is hilarious.

Oddly enough, IMHO, it seems like Galifianakis is the weakest link. The supporting cast is good and Anderson is pretty hilarious as Mom. It drags badly every time he does one of his deadpan scenes as the clown. I am actually a pretty big fan of his. It seems like he and Louis C.K. are testing the viewers' patience here.

Dark comedy, but this show has me laughing out loud more than any other show right now. Glad to see it was picked up for a second season.

I'm sure this show caters to very specific tastes -- no populist comedy here -- but I find it funny as hell. Louis Anderson as the mother was ingenious casting -- he could have played it strictly for the visual laughs, but he's actually bringing a lot of depth and personality to the character.

I saw a few minutes of a later episode. Very funny and good. I'm going to give it time to grow on me.

It's...hmmm..."OK" seems to be overselling it a bit. Seems like Galifianakis and Anderson's pitch was: We're in it. Are you with us, FX?

This isn't up to the level of Shakes the Clown, the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies.

Martha is probably my favorite character on television right now.

I love it...a brilliant blend of utter inanity and pathos. Martha (Martha Kelly)and Christine Baskets (Louie Anderson) are absolutely hilarious. Zach G. as Chip Baskets and his twin brother Dale (yes Chip n' Dale if that makes you laugh then you will appreciate this series sense of humor, if it doesn't well you've been warned) doesn't stand out as much but his character is more in flux and turmoil so the humor is similar. Still every episode has a laugh out Baskets moment. But Louie A. steals the show. His portrayal of the crass but caring Costco-obsessed mother is breathtaking. The above post with the link to the NPR interview is essential listening (thanks Rupe33) and really nails why his performance is so epic. The interview deals with his mother and alcoholic father, the death of his beloved brother, his comedic choices, a brush with a suicide attempt all with a unpretentious candidacy and with a chuckle. Mesmerizing and inspiring. Obviously hats off to creator Louis C.K. and director Jonathan Krisel. So happy it was renewed.

I saw that the show was going to start a few times in January, but I forgot about it. I was listening to the radio on the way home last night and heard it was on. I looked it up last night and have binge watched every episode today. I love it. The dark humor and Louis Anderson as the Basket mom is fantastic. And Martha is great. I have the show set up to record from now on. It should be renewed. I'm sure it doesn't appeal to everyone, but I love Galiafinikis as Chip and Dale. The adopted twins are a good touch as well.
