  1. An awesome promo video shot at the con featuring Superman with his laser vision heating up and Batman in his powered Batsuit has gotten out. It keeps getting taken down on YouTube, Warner didn't intend it to leak. I think they made a mistake pushing this film all the way to 2016.

Was this movie a comic morphed into a film ala Kick-A$$ ?

Of course! That's not Wonder Woman - it's Xena!

We could really do with Vidiot's input right about now - I'm hearing that there's a fan movement currently ongoing to have Gal Gadot dropped from the project while it's still early enough due to a combination of her physique (or lack of) and now comments made on Facebook in support of Israel. From what I've read on the subject, it appears that she served for two years in the IDF as a trainer (not that I personally have any problem with this, considering it's mandatory) and has spoken out against her critics by stating that to be historically accurate in her role as Wonder Woman then she would actually need to have only one breast. I don't have any problems with Gadot's casting, though it's slightly concerning that such a major character is being played by someone who has allegedly been paid just $300,000 for her time. In the visually stylised world Zack Snyder is aiming for, it doesn't even bother me that a once vibrant costume is now one step from being a Xena parody, as she now looks far more realistic for a warrior type. Heck, what should concern me is the absence of primary colours in this universe, especially considering what it's meant for the once vibrant Superman. Despite being a life-long Man of Steel fan, the last film was the first real disappointment to me so far* and now I'm actually finding myself looking forward to Batman's presence more, thanks to the obviously Frank Miller inspired design and Christopher Nolan's trilogy doing a fantastic job of helping me forget previous awful cinematic adventures for The Dark Knight.

*At the moment, I'd say Superman Returns would rate between III and IV: The Quest for Peace in my list, if I had to write one up right now. Even after giving it all my time and effort, MOS is down there at the bottom, though I have been watching it quite a lot recently waiting for something to click. Instead, I've found myself simply wishing it ended about 30 minutes earlier so we didn't have to deal with the "disaster pornography" or that horrible snake/dragon type enemy. Does anyone else suspect this and the spider-like World Engine were leftovers from when Jon Peters had more than just a token executive producer's credit because of how much he interfered with the ill-fated Superman Lives and Flyby projects? As much as the recent leaked teaser impressed me, I'm worried about the lack of involvement Nolan's had so far with the latest installment, as I heard that he backed off when Snyder and David S. Goyer decided to go ahead with Superman killing General Zod, even though he advised them against pursuing that idea. Don't get me wrong, I think Goyer's done some great work inside the superhero genre, but when dealing with such a large cast his quality drops significantly. For example, while it's certainly not a poor film by any standard, The Dark Knight Rises suffered from having too many characters not getting the screen time their back stories deserved. Based on the negativity around Wonder Woman, could she yet fail to make the final cut? Either way, it's telling that nothing about the rumoured Aquaman was shown off at Comic Con, though I suppose they need to keep something held back to tease us with between now and the planned 2016 release, unless they're considering bringing this forward as a way of messing with Marvel's counter attack plans!

  7. He's gone. Don't know exactly what happened with Marc.

  8. There is zero possibility they drop Gal Gadot from the role. I thought she looked good in the promo shot, I doubt we'll see much of Wonder Woman's costume in Batman vs. Superman. We are much more likely to get Diana Prince, her civilian identity.

They've been shooting all summer. Fans can complain all they want, it's waaaay too late to recast or just drop her character. They could end up cutting Wonder Woman out of the film, but I'm doubtful that her role is going to be small enough to do that without consequence. I haven't read anything about her pay, but perhaps she took less pay upfront in exchange for back end points. This movie could potentially make her a big star so I can see why an actor would make that trade.

From what I can tell, she agreed to the reduced pay for Dawn of Justice in return for a much larger role in the following Justice League movie (which it's rumoured might actually be titled World's Finest, adding to the confusing trend of naming each film after a phrase I doubt will even be used, which started with The Dark Knight, or Man of Steel if we're sticking to this continuity), suggesting that Wonder Woman might indeed only make a fleeting appearance in costume for now... if her part was any bigger, it would make sense to include her along with Batman and Superman! As for Gal Gadot potentially becoming a star through this project, wasn't she already quite established due to her being a major presence in the Fast & Furious series? At best, I predict her character will be one of the stronger second tier presences in "BVS" along with Aquaman.

Established maybe, but I wouldn't go so far as to call her a star. I don't think the average person knew her name until the announcement of her part in this, and I recall her being referred to as "The Hot One" from Fast Five and Six around the web. She's more known now, thanks to her involvement in this DC movie, and if it's a hit it may take her career to the next level. But I agree that she'll likely be a more secondary character at best, but maybe an important one.

The fan complaining about the casting of Wonder Woman is pathetic, really. Oh boo hoo, Wonder Woman isn't going to have huge tits. Who cares. You wanna look at big tits, that's why we have the Internet.

WTF? So, Vidiot's gone away? Major bummer!

Back on topic. Regarding the Wonder Woman issue, add me to those who think that Gadot was miscast. Not a fan of the Xena outfit (not her fault) either.

And I would have preferred this lady in that iconic role

I like Kat Dennings in lighter roles, except that horrid show Two Broke Girs, but I have doubts about her being able to pull off a semi-serious role in an action movie and fight things. But then again, given my low expectations for this movie I suppose it wouldn't have mattered as much.

It's not "big tits" that I would rather see in the WW costume, but I would like to see a woman who looked like an amazon, know what I mean? A strong woman, a warrior. I would say someone at least as powerful looking as Katee Sackhoff.

Just pointing out that this a) is correct and b) also rules out Kat Dennings...

That said, WW has been drawn all sizes over the years and I'm sold enough for now, at least.

I'd have loved to see what Adrianne Palicki could do as Wonder Woman with a better script and less tacky costume... I guess we'll never know now!

In The Dark Night Returns (which really should have been turned into a movie by now), Batman has Green Arrow shoot an arrow at Superman. Superman grabs it out of the air, only to have synthetic kryptonite explode in his face. Batman is in a suit that basically channels all of Gotham's electricity, and he pummels the incapacitated Superman black and blue.

He became a government stooge. In fact Green Arrow only had one arm because, it was implied, Superman had removed the other when the government outlawed superheroes. Batman had come out of retirement after a gang took over Gotham, and the president sent Superman in to stop him.

This is available in a fairly decent animated offering: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2313197/

It ain't a live action movie, but it's pretty good. I still prefer reading the original 4-part comic series, but the animated 2-parter is worth checking out.

    Makes sense. Thanks!!

I have always wondered about the whole Batman vs Superman thing. A lot different from the Saturday morning Superfriends cartoon!
