Beady Eye album - 'BE' out 10th June

  1. I didn't think the first Beady Eye album was perfect, especially the poor sequencing which felt very back-loaded to me. BE is a solid effort that misses out on any true highlights. It feels like a lot of solid album tracks patched together without a couple of standout singles to spruce up the pot.

I just listened to the deluxe edition for the first time and I have to say I was hoping for better than this. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t very good either. This one has left me feeling pretty indifferent. I really enjoyed IZ Rite, but then there was the awful Second Bite of the Apple. Everything else was pretty bland and forgettable. I found Different Gear much more impactful right away. Maybe I just need more time with this one.

One thing is certain, however. Noel Gallagher operates on a completely different level than his ex-bandmates. :)

That's kinda how I felt about both Beady Eye LP's. There's nothing blatantly terrible on either one, but nothing that makes me sit up and say "holy sh!t" either.

  4. I think Beady Eye could eventually turn out a stellar album, the band does seem to be gelling as they find their true sound. In today's fickle music market, they would probably be pushed to alter their sound on the next album if not for the automatic fanbase they acquired as an off-shoot of Oasis. They should attempt a complete psychedelia album or something.

    Great post, ShardEnder!
Yes, I also enjoy "The World's Not Set In Stone".
And regarding your comments about the final Oasis masterpiece, a bunch of us did that in this thread:

Myself, I am still listening to this, but find myself skipping about half of the songs each time around.
I am working on a shorter version of the album, where there are no "skips".
At best, I can see myself keeping 10 of the 17 released songs... :help:

Interesting that quite a few Americans seem to like beady...at least on here.

Its a puzzler that in the UK, their albums do well, because most people I talk to think they're a bit "sh**.

The singles flop though. I think he's probably still riding on the very substantial Oasis fan base. I don't see this post Oasis career going much further than one more album to be honest.

I am a massive fan of Oasis early stuff and when to see them live a couple times, but was never a fan of Liams personality. He is just a giant twat with an over-rated sense of importance. So its easy for me to dislike Beady Eye. I do like a couple of their songs though and have heard their new album. Its just run of the mill to me. Compared to his brothers, its pretty mediocre.

Noel always had better lyrics than his brother.

Quite a few of us would say he is a better singer too.
When Liam couldn't be arsed doing the MTV Unplugged session, Noel took over and blew everyone away.

Did this thing ever come out?

  13. It has not officially come out in the United States, at least on CD. But the imports are widely available on Amazon.

Better melodies too. I've always enjoyed both of their voices.

Anyone have more info on the recording techniques of this new CD?
Flick of the Finger has some high ring noise like in the begining (is that an instrument thing)
and the guitar intro to Face the crowd kinda clicks.

Watched the 2011 live gig on TV last night back to back with Noel's 2012 200. 000 happy concert goers event. Preferred Beady Eye's relatively small gig in comparison ..rock 'n roll compared to easy. Beady need a killer chart song. A cover of Come And Get It should do the trick. Hire Jeff Lynn.
