I wouldn't recommend Songtrack, except as a curiosity. Very odd mixes and sound.

I just recently gave mine to a friend, he likes The Beatles but only listens to the radio, doesn't really own any CDs. He was thrilled to get them, so I was happy. I wasn't using them so someone should get some enjoyment out of them.

Go for the remaster from a few years ago if you do. I keep reminding myself to do this as it's reputedly less compressed etc and it is the preferred version for many.

The Songtrack? Is it less compressed? From what I remember, it's just a direct copy of the 1999 version.

I bought the Red and Blue compilations in 2010 and that was it. I don't like the packaging.

OK, thanks all. It looks like I will be on the hunt for the 87 remaining main albums & Yello Sub Songtrack. Anything on Past masters that Im missing with only owning the US album box?

    Yes, 1999.

Agreed, although it's nice to have Only a Northern Song in stereo.

As far as MMT, white, and pepper, Steve Hoffman recommends the 87s. They're pretty much flat transfers with more dynamics (especially the white album).
To get all the songs you're missing you'll need past masters 1&2. Please Please Me (2 songs are missing from US set). And Yellow Submarine.
Then I believe you'll have all the songs yet not all the mixes.

I too prefer the 87's from Sgt. Pepper to Let It Be. Including Past Masters.

I don't listen to them much, usually prefer the 09's, but I keep them for nostalgia.

Keep the '87's for the jewel cases! :D I love the sound quality of the '09's, but am not crazy for the packaging.

Yes I totally agree, I bought the anti-static inner sleeves from Japan and trimmed them to fit the US/UK packages. The worst part was getting the CDs out without scratching them first.

Yes! We think alike man. Those jewel cases help me sleep at night, knowing my Beatles cds are safe. ;)

Digipacks suck. I wish all CDs had the jewel case like the one that came with my Analogue Productions Cosmo's Factory by CCR.

Those seem to be discontinued altogether.

I loathe the 1987 CDs with the exception of the White Album

I loathe them too, except for the Disque Americ/Cimran pressings of Help! and Rubber Soul. Also, Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album and Let it Be.:)

Nothing wrong with the 2009 stereo box.

I think the stereo CDs of Help! And Rubber Soul in the mono box surpass the Canadian pressings. I paid crazy money for those copies 10 years ago. Foolish me.

You may be right, but they're still better than the remixed 2009s.
And, luckily living in Canada, I was able to find cheap copies of these locally.

I kept my 87s, and since I have the Mono box, the US Albums, and needledrops of the MFSL vinyl, I don't think I need the 09 stereos.

They'd be nice...but there's nothing wrong with the 87 LIB, YS, and AR, though the MFSL are the go to stereos for those.

My goto digital White Album is the 30th AV.

    Fairly set, I think...
