Of course the lacquers are still intact. They didn’t press that many copies.

It doesn’t mean they’ll repress them anytime soon though. They probably still have the lacquers for Let It Be Naked too...

The lacquers were probably discarded right after plating.

    True.

The metal parts are almost certainly still available for future use.

My original U.S. first press also destroys the 2012 WA. I gave the 2012 to my teen daughter who loves it. Kept the good stuff for myself :)

I'm sure, but what I meant was that the vinyl pressing of the 2012 EU was far superior to the 2012 US - vinyl mastering is pretty much the same for both (I think).

Neither has arrived yet, but I will be adding the Mono Masters and the 2LP 2017 Pepper's to my small Beatles collection.

I was sent a 2012 stereo WA by mistake, as I had ordered a mono replacement for a damaged disc in my mono box. I ended up keeping it and getting the mono from another source. The stereo is the US pressing and it can't be recommended. Very disappointing.

I have a couple of the 1978 vinyl discs (one is unopened), but I have not listened to it in awhile after getting the vinyl mono box set. Are you saying the difference in sound quality is good or bad?

I like the 78 it sounds natural, and full at the same time. However, I resort to my DMM copy the most - the separation is enhanced, and clear as a bell. IMO.

Is your DMM on white vinyl? Just curious. A friend of mine has one, has no interest in vinyl and doesn't have a turntable.

    This is true.
The DMM GERMAN white vinyl issue is STILL the best sounding (to me) issue hands down. Just sounds like a Master tape rolling in the studio.

There will never be a superior-sounding "White Album" until someone re-compiles the masters for each song, undoes the current cutting EQ that's baked into some of the mixes, and cuts it as a 3-disc set.

There. Someone had to say it.

I don’t think the vinyl stereo box set from 2012 is that bad. :hide:

Yes, it has subsequently been surpassed by the Mono Box but I don’t see myself selling the stereo box any time soon.

There won't be a superior sounding While Album unless John, Paul, George & Ringo can take a time machine back to 1968 and re-record it. Anything else is just putting lipstick on a pig.

There. Somebody had to say it.
