  1. And we say both "a quarter till eight" and "a quarter past eight". Do people in the UK say "quarter eight"? If so, which is it? :)

I wonder in the digital age if youngsters even understand the quarter till/quarter past reference. These clearly reference the analog clock face, which doesn't usually show up on cell phones or tablets, or even many watches anymore.

That sounds great! I'd love to have access to these playlists. Unfortunately, I'm in Canada, so I might as well be out in the boonies, the middle of nowhere, the sticks... as 21st century Canada has no access to Spotify and a whole host of other services :-( Is there any way that you could provide your playlists in any other format like m3u or even plain text. It would be tremendously appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Jay

When I was waiting for the expanded edition to arrive it felt like I was waiting to welcome home a newborn child. I was trying to find the perfect place for the book that was protected. It weighs about as much as a newborn. Whenever I buy new shoes I always don't wear them for a while because they will get dirty. Once they do, I let it go. It was the same with this book. I didn't want to touch it. I put it off for about a week then started reading it. I keep flipping to the back to read the notes at the end while I'm reading the story. I now have finger grease on those pages and surprisingly the red book mark that is attached to the book (ooh la la!) has left some red on the bottom of the notes pages where I have it. The bay has gotten dirty and I can finally relax and enjoy it. I'm about 250 pages in and only George and Paul know each other. Quite remarkable on how dysfunctional both of Lennon's parents were. I just read the part about Lennon saying how he felt his mom's breasts and wondered if he should've gone further.

I have a third grader, and they still teach the clock in school. Prob will for a while. Most watches nowadays I see are analog faced - since they're no longer a necessity but a style accessory, digital faces look cheap

Not to mention the fact that 15 minutes is a quarter of an hour, regardless of digital vs. analog.

15 minutes = 25% of 60 minutes whether or not your clock has hands.
