You're correct, but I still wish he had divided the material in 4 or 5 shorter volumes rather than 3. We might be debating the e.q. on Ringo's hi-hat on "I Should Have Known Better" right now!

Don't get me started on that abominable travesty of a "book"...

Volume 1 is fine. But '64-5, '66-7, and '68-'70 would have been best, I feel.

Well, at least a few of those pages were about the "Irish Potato Famine" era.

So no 1963 then? We're just skipping it, straight to Feb. 9 '64 I suppose? That will please the Capitol fans here.

There will be a footnote though concerning 1963. Two or three sentences will suffice .. ;)

Sorry, had it in my head that Volume 1 covered that. '63 to '65 it is then!

    Yeah, something like:
    "They did good.
    I mean really good.
Think of how good they could possibly have been, it was ten times as good as that".

Come to think of it, Lewisohn was originally contracted to write a book just about The Beatles in 1963 so I guess there's a lot of stuff to read about!

I didn't know that. Fascinating info. Talk about a project growing huge from "small" seeds.

See Mark's twitter for new info. I believe he still hasn't started to write new book, still gathering information.

Volume 2 is due out in ~2020, IIRC, so he's still got some time...

He has to research the family trees of Sid Bernstein, Allen Klein, and Magic Alex, going back to at least the Middle Ages, before he can start writing the next actual book. It's a very time-consuming endeavor ... ;)

According to Mark's friend, he just finished researching 1964 and will start to do the same for 1965/66 which will take about 3 years. Then he planning to start write book in 2020 with possible publication in 2021..

That's not the way history books are written and not the way Mark is doing it.

According to Mark's OTHER friend, he just finished reading Hunter Davies' Beatles biography --- for the first time, believe it or not (!!!) --- and plans to rephrase that book, adding gobs of made-up stuff that no one else can verify, and will return from his 7-year beach holiday to cobble together some usual hyperbole with a possible publication date in 2021.

    ;)
