I know this has been discussed somewhere before, but I can't seem to locate the thread(s), so I apologize for the repetition.

Are either the Beatles EP set or singles set better sonically than the regular CDs (aside from the mono/stereo issue). Is one set preferable to the other. I know Steve said there were some issues with the single set.

    Thanks,

    Gabe

    Hello to all.

I have seen UK boxes of the Beatles singles in vinyl, some with generic green sleeves and others with individual picture sleeves.

Which set is the best sonically?

    Thanks in advance.

Green sleeves and picture sleeves, eh? Both from the same press.

If you can pick up the set fairly cheaply, go for it. Just make sure the all-important "Please Please Me"/"Ask Me Why" record is clean and scratch free. It's a gem!

Hello Steve and thanks for your reply.

There are two issues of this set, World Records and EMI/Parlophone.

Either with generic or picture sleeves, which one is better sonically?

Better means for singles, punchy and with plenty PRAT.

Many thanks in advance and regards.
