I just got an email from CD Japan telling me that a 5 CD Set of The Beatles Japan Albums will be released on June 25, 2014.

Here's a look at the whole set:
    UICY-76429_2.jpg

Japanese original box set of The Beatles contains 5 albums released in Japan from 1964 through 1965. Each album artwork faithfully replicates the original Japanese album artwork, including obi and inner sleeve. Each album uses 2009 remaster (mono master: "Meet The Beatles," "The Beatles' Second Album" / stereo master: "A Hard Day's Night" / original stereo mix: "HELP!"). Following are the titles and release years: "Meet The Beatles (Japanese title: Beatles!) (1964)," "The Beatles' Second Album (Japanese title: Beatles No.2) (1964)," "A Hard Day's Night (Japanese title: Beatles ga Yattekuru Ya! Ya! Ya!) (1964)," "Beatles No.5 (1965)," and "HELP! (Japanese title: 4 Nin wa Idol) (1965)." Available for CD format for the first time in the world. Comes with a 100-page (subject to change) booklet with Japanese contents. Deluxe box packaging. CDs are pressed in Japan and cardboard sleeves are made in Japan.

Wow. So this is presumably a legitimate release? Suprised we haven't seen this milked for every country that released a Beatles album in 1964....

    There's time yet! ;)

Interesting that the description says that the 'Help!' album is the original stereo mix, as the US Albums used the remix.

john lennonist There ONCE was a NOTE, PURE and EASY...

The Mono "Meet the Beatles", No.2" and "No.5" LPs are pretty interesting compilations, with several songs that appear rarely, if at all, on any other comps.

    I like 'em. :agree:

Everything aside, its quite a nice looking set. I was tempted and was hoping it would have been around the £50 mark..... I shall pass though, for five discs £81 plus P+P is a bit steep.

I'm more looking forward to the 2009 box sets reissues using the 1987 audio masters.

    Especially if there's a cassette edition :)

Why can't they just issue the albums on 8 - Track and be done with it...

Seems to be. In amongst the Japanese text is "EMI Music Japan/Universal Music Japan".

...and the catalog number fits their pattern too. If this is the real deal, I bet it will become an expensive collector's item.

The title translates roughly as "Four guys (people) who are Idols" or "Four Idols."

I'm assuming this is to do with the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles first tour to Japan? If Help is the original stereo mix at least that's an attempt to be historically accurate....

They should have done their own Let It Be too, called "The Beatles have Gone! Crap! Crap! No!"

No, that wasn't until 1966. But the 'Beatles 50' logo is on there.

Good investment for flipping it in 12-24 months. Probably triple your investment easily.
