Noticed on Ebay there is a Abbey Road Japanese half speed Pro Use[ AR EALF 97001] LP for sale. Any one have any idea what this LP sounds like compared to the UK pressings? Also what it's worth bidding wise?

The Pro-Use Abbey Road LP tends to go for over a hundred (as does the Pink Floyd DSOTM Pro-Use).

I haven't heard the Abbey Road. The DSOTM is extremely quiet, and has a mellow sound (not bright at all).

I have the pro-use (have had it about 20 years) and the sound is only so so, IMO. I find the UK apple is better, with tighter bass and more clarity and mellowness in the midrange.

I have the PRO-USE and I love it. Lots of dynamics. I haven't heard a regular Japanese issue but I can't imagine it would be any better. Rumor I heard was that it was this PRO-USE mix that the first issue Japanese CD was mastered from.
