Nice collection Mazzy. Thinking/hoping this will be more than a worthy addition

Past Masters will be my first play, then onward from the start with PPM.

  3. I think these will be one of the best issues ever. Everyone will now have a chance to get these records as close as possible to how the Beatles original felt they should be heard and at a reasonable price

And probably better now because none of us had as great playback rigs back then as we have now. I certainly didn't. We can now play perfect pressings that are not 50 years old on better playback equipment.

Yes, the early 80s UK monos were all analog.

He confirms in Video 3 that the Mono Masters LP was a new master created from analogue copies of the masters.

They must have outsourced it to the Genesis reissue team...

Ask Garth Hudson. His ordering system is good enough for CBS.

From London......jetlagged at 5am I'm reading Mojo Mags Kate Bush 20 page special and I discover there's also a 5 page Beatles in Mono article and review. So heads up if you didn't know....back to sleep. Just 6 sleeps to Kates gig, but I won't hear this mono box until Oct when back in Oz......

Here's a quote from Fremer in the comments section of the blog entry that contains the above videos.

"Having now compared the first two albums on multiple LPs on a few turntables and cartridges and then compared to the mono CD I remain enthusiastic! Anyone who owns the mono CD box and bought this box grudgingly or out of completist obligation will be glad they did."

I am definitely getting excited about this - have a box on virtual hold at my local store to be picked up on release day!
