Dolby's surround technology that adds several more speakers for height. It's pretty cool! I went to the screening of the Sgt. Pepper Atmos mix and was astonished by it. Whether Atmos is ready for the home (or, more precisely, if the consumer's home is ready for Atmos) is a main question at hand.

Maybe we'll get an Atmos mix of Imagine ;)

  8. Ha yeah. No interest in 50 year old albums formatted in this way.

Sounds pretty good in my home. Of course there are only so many movies that are mastered for Atmos.

The White Album could use a condensed edition more than anything. Thank God we're seeing reissues of these underrated, forgotten classics again.

  11. A lot of negative feelings out there about the ATMOS mixes for Automatic For The People and Kick.If you don't have ATMOS gear it may not translate as well as the marketing says it does.No idea myself but haven't seen a good word about the mixes for the albums above. The new Pono?

Perhaps the complaints have more to do with the mixes.

I wonder if they'll serial number physical copies on the cover, for old times sake. That would be cool.

They did on the mono, so not impossible. Unfortunately the fount was too big, too printed and unsubtle.

Do y'all think there will be a stripped down version of Imagine included with the deluxe edition? I would love to see some less wall-of-sound type production (How Do You Sleep?) And - for example - hear John's ranching guitar slams.

Dunno why the WhiteAlbum is sharing a thread with Imagine. TWA JL songs are much better than all of JL solo career imo.

Apart from POB,John L imo has a handful of great singles and that's about it.But even POB can't compare to le White a. TWA Lennon (&McCartney) tunes works as a better collective of songs that begs repeat listens and are more obtuse, cryptic and surreal lyrical than Lennon solo.
