Beatles "White Album" and John Lennon 'Imagine' - Expanded Reissues Due In 2018*

I'm not sure if there would be enough interest in a thread just devoted to John. Is he that popular?
Instead, maybe change the thread to: "Ringo All-Starr Band Live Album and John Lennon Imagine Expanded Reissues Due In 2018 " ...

 

Imagine was released Sept 9, 1971 in the USA and Oct 8, 1971 in the UK.
Is there a 47 year anniversary thing that I missed out on? Why are they doing this now?

 

It's my understanding that the Imagine film (not the documentary) will be a part of the package. However, I don't know if it will be the full cut, or the Yoko-lite version from 1985. I would suspect that it's the whole thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if some tweaking had gone on.

Will a CD (of the album) be part of the big package? Or will it just be sold as a separate (single remixed CD) release?

 

Maybe the CD will also include Yoko's songs?

October 9 release? I understand that new music is typically released on Fridays, but maybe Universal will make an exception and go back to Tuesday for this one
