Beatles White Album discounted?

Just got the weekly flyer for Ollie’s Bargain Outlet (“Good Stuff Cheap”), a discount/remainder merchandise chain in my part of the country at least; perhaps nationwide. On the front page, nestled between the announcement for ‘Mucinex Severe Cold Formula Buyout’ and ‘Disney Sofia the First 14” Doll’ is the notice for ‘The Beatles White Album 30 Songs on 2 CD Collectors Set’ for $7.99, marked down from $17.99.’ The items in this flyer go on sale Thursday, Sept. 27.

What’s the story for discounting this album? Is there a new version on the horizon that would cause them to clear the decks? Or what?

I recently picked up the new mono vinyl (2014) for around $27.......I don't know if the 50th anniversary release had anything to do with the price, but it's the best $27 I've spent.
