All right, here I have to say "Oh, baby!". It's probably the Harbeths -- I just really like them. But it also looks like either a Luxman or Accuphase power amp. Is that correct? Also, loads of sunlight.

I'm enjoying this whole thread. There are rooms I don't like, a few I hate, but hey...easy enough to scroll past...

Hey, it's at a university. The cooler is probably only temporary until they get a keg.

Yes that's an Accuphase I believe. It probably didn't stick around, this guy is a reviewer, though he owns the 40.1's.

Here's the nicest one I've seen all day; modest, attainable, simple, and a very cool amp:

This straight line is so fraught with potential off-color punch lines that I will not touch it.

A friend's friend (that is me) was reluctant to post his own room in this thread, asking himself: would it be legit here? I have been eagerly browsing it since the beginning and I read many people telling how they like nice rooms more than museophile ones, so I told him: don't be shy, show yours..

...am I missing something? Beautiful room, but listening anything here would be hard, given the hardware available. Or the highest-end speakers are the two statues? Well, sitting on the carpet could be uncomfortable but The Sound of Silence never sounded so realistic. :)

I see some of the set ups in magazines and think the same. In my pre-Katrina home(and in small 12x12 rooms, things were cramped. Record cabinets, CD "cubes", hutches on top of the cabinets. Two racks side by side - monitor in one with VCR/LD/cable box, the other an audio rack with NAD PowerTracker amp/preamp, Pioneer "B" stock CD player(with the upside down transport), Denon 3 head tape deck, with a $500 turntable on top. On sides of the cabinets, Metronome 3's and 7 hooded to resemble speakers. Throw in a pool table in the next room, things were TIGHT. Oh, I forgot, in another bedroom, had two more record cabinets with a hutch on top. I had stuff scattered all over the house. And yes, I knew where EVERYTHING was.

Wish Katrina wouldn't had taken my gear. I had room for two more satellites on the subs and with an amp change, hmmmmmm..........

Why are some of these rooms relatively narrow and yet the listening spot is so far away, often twice as far away as the distance between left and right speaker? This goes against most of what I have learned about speaker placement. The sound stage would have to be awfully small and narrow as well.
