Anybody pick up the Dreams 12"? Jesus that's a good sounding record.

I hope the heck not! These are average songs and are now a little old for a new release. So I hope if anything, just a deluxe version.

Anyone else a little nervous about this release? I am excited, but the wait has me wondering, hope it's for the best!

Will we get a preview of new songs when Beck opens for U2 in September?

  6. I am seeing him headline a week from Friday in Seattle.

Wow, I did the same thing with both artists and now they are both among my favourite... are you sure you're not me?... :):)

I didn't so much write them off as thought both of their early big hits were "ok", but nothing to write home about. I was wrong, but at least was happy to have two discographies with lots of b-sides and extras to dig into.

Saw Beck last week in Milwaukee. I'm more of a mellow Beck guy, and was surprised how much I enjoyed his upbeat singles. Those songs really pop live and the crowd was eating it up. He also did a mellow set which was amazing. His band was just on fire! Anyone know who his rhythm section guys are? It was like modern incarnations of Bernard Purdie and Bernard Edwards! Just tight. It was my first Beck show, and I won't miss another!

Nice. Beck is secretly using his backup band to make a Jellyfish reunion happen. Halfway there.

Thanks JW. I lean toward the Midnite Vultures end of the Beck spectrum, and I thought the show was fantastic as well. A lot of solid headpumping going on throughout. Sound was a little thick at first but cleaned up as the show progressed. Show was a bit short of 2 hours, would have preferred a little more, of course. Well worth the price of admission though. If anyone has the chance don't hesitate.

I caught the Berkeley show a few weeks ago, and agree with Nitsuj that it is well worth going to see Beck this tour if you have a chance.

Two versions of "Dreams" on the album? That's kind of weird, although maybe that's only for the iTunes version.

I predict they'll be drastically different mixes of the song. And it looks like the original single mix is only on the digital download versions of the album. Not on the CD or even the deluxe vinyl.
