Jay, help me out here. I've never heard any stories about "The Last Time" & Roebuck "Pops" Staples.

Gimme some data.

Keep an eye out for the song "This May Be the Last Time" by the Staples Singers and you'll see. The song may even predate the Staples.

Aha! I see (hear) what you're talking about. I have that tune on Pops 1992 cd, "Peace To The Neighborhood."

Further investigation of that cd reveals is was written by Pops in 1961.

I've never heard the original by Pops & his daughters but will seek it out.
