Might as well make this one as a companion to the stereo thread.
    My picks:
    "Money (That's What I Want)"
    "Paperback Writer"
    "Revolution (single)"
    "Norwegian Wood"
    "Michelle"
    all of Revolver
    all of Sgt Pepper's
all of The Beatles except "Revolution 9" (not a true mono mix)
    The German single ("SLD", "KGMDH")

Favorite mono "White album" mono tracks:

    Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    I'm So Tired
    Don't Pass Me By
    Yer Blues
    Long, Long, Long
    Savoy Truffle

I prefer the mono mixes above. Of course there are plenty of tracks on this album that I prefer both mixes equally and some that I prefer in stereo.

With the exception of Tomorrow Never Knows, *The Chase, Baby In Black and The Word, I'd probably say just about everything up to, and including, Pepper.

    Undisputed Mono Champ: Paperback Writer

*Yes, The Chase is not a real Beatles song, but it's mono version has some tape heavy tape flutter in the first 20 seconds.

  9. This one doesn't often get mentioned as a mono standout, but I prefer Hey Jude in mono. There is some kind of bass didgeridoo-type thingy in the mix that stands out in mono.

The stereo is SO WEAK. The mono sounds like a rock band. The mono shows you why people flipped for these guys.

The vocal on Yesterday is stunning in mono, especially through some good cans.

Got to Get You Into My Life stands out. Different vocal in the fade. I saw LOVE two weeks back and before the show they featured a version with a completely unique guitar track

talent, great public relations and amazingly slick publicity is what made the Beatles...Mono had nothing to do with it...most of the first generation fans heard them on a one inch speaker thorough a pocket AM Radio...or a small speaker on their TV sets while watching them on TV ...nothing was pumping trust me as I was there.

    Savoy Truffle..

..was the first one that hit me years ago when I got my first (beat) copy of The Beatles album in mono. Never clocked it much before that, but it became one of my top Beatles tracks, and still is. It's great on the 2014, you can hear him really hacking into the guitar during the last verse, cool.

    Hey Bulldog...

.. because the stereo mix is an absolute total disaster, especially for its era: what excuse was there for such a poor stereo mix that late in the 1960s! Was it mixed by someone in the canteen?

Unless it's simply my ears but the drums sound buried on the mono 'GTGYIML', in the case of that song the stereo is better.

the only mono i will ever prefer is the Sgt Pepper reprise, first because it is longer, secondly amazingly for a mono mix you can hear more, there are more things in it....which would be the normal reason I prefer stereo, you can pick out more things, but this is not true on the pepper reprise......

You prefer the stereo mixes of I Want to Hold Your Hand and Paperback Writer? I knew there must be one person somewhere who did.
