Well, I just purchased 2 more from this seller. Opened one and again, it has two backs. One thin, one thick.
I can help you out with the thick back if you eventually need one.

 

Thanks. I placed an order and made a request for a case that comes with both back plates. We'll see how it goes.

 

Older stock (pre-2009 manufacture date) must have the two backs, I guess.

 

Got the case, and it came with both back plates. This case is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again. Really like how even with the case on, I can put the iPod on my docks without removing it from the case. My previous metal case was bulky and wouldn't allow the classic to go on the dock without removal.
