Ramones - "It's Alive" (@ The Rainbow - London, England 12/31/1977). Totally incendiary...

Roy Orbison - Black & White Night. Amazing quality both picture and sound wise. And the look on the faces of the players. Smiles of pure joy......

In general, I like this concert movie, but it suffers from the frenetic jump shot syndrome.

Like telling a disobedient dog to stay...stay...nope it jumped. argh...

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones suffers from this 'style' as well.

It got a bit tedious to only see Mick's lips in long sustained shots.o_O:winkgrin:

I love concert videos. I wish there were more of them available at local stores. I'm not a big mail order guy. I haven't really gotten many from Netflix DVD service either. It would be hard to pick favorites as I like most of the ones I own. I guess my choices would be

    The Last Waltz
Joe Bonamassa at the Royal Albert Hall
Celine Dion - A New Day
David Gilmour - Royal Albert Hall (Disc 2 is great, disc 1 is really spotty quality)
Dave Matthews/Tim Robbins at Radio City (Not a Big DM fan but Tim Robbins is awesome!)
Dave Mason - Live at Sunrise (5stars plus!)
Jimmy Buffett - Live by the Bay (why is this not on DVD/BD ????)
    Sara Brightman - Harem

My favorite has to be Pink Floyd's Live At Pompeii. I mainly got it for the hilarious interviews, but the performances are top notch as well.

No overdubbing that I can see.

About as strong of a backbeat as it gets.

A few weak tracks, but plenty of magic also, with everyone playing at their best...the musicians connecting with each other and the audience.

Calle 54 - The landmark doc about Latin Jazz is extraordinarily well done, shows the amazing range of the genre from piano duos, trios, all the way to Big Band. Entertaining to the max!

Does 'Standing in the Shadows of Motown' count? The 5.1 sound on the concert segments is superb!

Steve needs to stay away from the controls, on videos and albums.
