I have a weak spot for Darby O'Gill. When I was a kid the banshee used to scare the hell out of me.

I thought Groundskeeper Willie was the "Shinning" star...

Either you mean "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" or this is some joke I don't get...

The Hill. Haven't seen this in years. On my list of movies I want to get on DVD. I don't think it is available yet.

While not my favorite [that's "The Man Who Would Be King"], I'm surprised no one has mentioned "A Fine Madness" with Joanne Woodward. His performance was a little over the top [a "little"?], but it has to rate as one of his biggest departures from Bond.

My vote goes for "Highlander" - he looks so cool as a time travelling Spaniard! After that, "The Rock."

i LOVED the ANDERSON TAPES (great book, too)! directed by sidney lumet and a trippy synth score by quincy jones, also contains christopher walkens film debut, if i'm not mistaken. good luck finding a copy, even on VHS. i got a copy on LD some years ago, but couldn't stand to look at a cropped 'scope image.

    later, chris

The Man Who Would Be King is a great movie and a great role for Connery. I have a big soft spot for A Bridge Too Far, I remember going to the cinema with my Dad when were on holiday to see this when it came out. There are a whole load of stars in it but Connery does really (to me anyway) fit into the role he has. Helps he is actually playing a Scotsman!!

The Man Who Would Be King (Caine can do a killer John Huston imitation, btw), Name of the Rose, Untouchables. Yes, he's good in Bridge Too Far. But his part, for me, is too small. Same for Hackman.

Connery owns The Last Crusade and The Rock as a supporting actor. To me, he makes both movies (and I seem to remember someone saying that The Rock is supposed to be a quasi-extension of his Bond character). I also like him in Highlander, although I think that movie could still be a good flick without him. I think the other 2 would suffer a lot without his participation.

The Man Who Would Be King wins it by some distance for me.

The Man Who Would Be King. I was 8 when that came out and saw it many times in the theater. I loved that movie. I have it on Blu Ray and it's still a great movie.

He's a great movie actor with astonishing charisma, so I can watch him in anything. But I think those four could be his best.
