But did you know that this scene was an homage to an 80s French film?

Any other admirers of Ewan McGregor & Cameron Diaz doing 'Beyond The Sea' in 'A Life Less Ordinary' ? As uncomfortable as it looks, it always has me grinning.

The use of Release by Pearl Jam in Out Of The Furnace is amazing. Particularly how it fades in at the end!

Definitely - the "Manhunter" scene is the first one I thought of! :) That and "Pee Wee's Big Adventure."

Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong, Good Morning Vietnam. The contrast of the song to the images is numbing.

Anna Karina and Jean-Paul Belmondo singing 'Ma Ligne De Chance' (Antoine Duhamel/Boris Bossiak) in Godard's 'Pierrot Le Fou'. In love, she sings about her hand's Line Of Fate (ma ligne de chance) and he sings about the curve of her hip (ta ligne de hanche).

Undoubtedly not what Eric & Co. had in mind... Nevertheless, my all-time favorite use of music in a movie:

It may be an original for the movie, but the song Pippin sings in Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King to the steward of Minas Tirith.

It is Beethoven's 9th in Clockwork Orange. However, in this case, the music is "scrypted" in the original book.

In it, Anthony Burgess repeatedly mentions Alex's love for Beethoven's music in general and the 9th symphony in particular and the book also mentions that Beethoven's music was used by his captors during his brainwashing process.
