    I mean from 1980 on...

For me, no question Deep Forest "SWEET LULLABY", second version by Tarsem:

Even watching this piss poor low-fi transfer is good but if anyone knows of a better quality transfer, please post a link, I'd love to see it in better quality. The original is stunning.

How about you? Just curious. Can you post a link if out there? Thanks..

Mine would have to be Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms. It was probably one of the first videos that I had seen that really demonstrated the artistic potential for the medium, aside from the fact that the video really did sing to me, spiritually. More than an ad for a song or album, and definitely much more than scantily clad women, cars, guns, shadows and venetian blinds.
Although, I must add, as a neck in neck, REM's Everybody hurts. I think that video sold me on the band. Up until that point, the jury was still out.

    Radiohead's "Just"
George Harrison's "When We Was Fab"
    Kate Nash's "Foundations"

Those three off the top of my head.

I actually have a soft spot for pre-MTV videos, when they weren't full of short cuts and distracting visuals. But since you're asking from 1980 on, sorry, it's probably Kiss' "I Love It Loud". It shows a lot of the band (like the videos of old), yet it has a story and a few "special effects":

Come to think of it, I think this really is my favorite video of all time, regardless of period. But if I had to compile a top 10, David Bowie's "The Jean Genie" and the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" would be on my list.

The Talking Heads an Peter Gabriel had some good ones, but I gotta go with Faboy Slim's Weapon of Choice, the one with Christoper Walking dancing, and then flying around a hotel.

I haven't seen it in 20 years, but U2's 'Pride' (as I recall) seemed so full of energy.

I've long wished there was some way of getting good Music Video programs. Just the tracks I liked.

Guess the On Demand video compilation business model never got established. :(

I'm not sure about "All-Time", but here are a few that come to mind. David Bowie's "Ashes To Ashes" - Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" (I remember MTV premiered the unedited version of that video at like 1:00 in the morning - That video in it's original form is just insane, but great) - I also like Radiohead's "Just" - The Rolling Stones' "She Was Hot" (where the guy sees that redhead, and his 'nads swell up and explode! - I love that!).

    Stuff like that.

Some great choices already, and also the first ones I thought of (Brothers in Arms, Everybody Hurts, Touch of Grey, Handle With Care). I'll also add Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.

I actually prefer "Beat It', with all those added sound effects to build the tension.
