Well the only 2015 album I have listened to thus far is the new Panda Bear and while there are great tracks (ie Boys Latin, Mr Noah and a few more) I just cannot get into the whole thing. I have not given up either but this year my goal is to be more frivolous with vinyl spending though I have found I have likely dropped oparound $300 on new vinyl in Jan so far (all have been reissues or older released though).

I also just ordered the new Jessica Pratt LP which I have only heard one song of so far but sounds great.

As much as I try, I just can't get into Beardfish. You are not the only person I have seen mention how good this album is.

I'm really digging the debut album by Nite Fields, Depersonalisation.

I'm liking the new Viet Cong album as well.

Radio Caroline has been playing the crap out of 'Modern Blues'. It sounds great to my ears.

Me neither. I was never a huge Panda Bear fan to begin with though. Just never really did anything for me.

I ordered the vinyl of Jessica Pratt on the strength of "Back Baby" alone. The Gorilla vs. Bear Sirius XM weekly radio show was playing it quite a bit and I have really take to it. I know this is an unoriginal comparison, but she has unique voice like Johanna Newsome (but less grating) with what I think\hope are the song writing chops of Joni Mitchell. Pretty pumped to get it.

I have been a big fan of Panda Bear since first hearing his Animal Collective tracks on the album "Feels". Since then, I found his songwriting on his solo albums and AC albums have continued to grow. Also, I think his 2007 album Person Pitch is one of the best of that decade easily (like a modern day Pet Sounds). I even really liked his follow-up, TomBoy which did not get great reviews. This one though, just feels like a mish mash of different tracks with no real flow. Liek I said, there are some really great songs on here but when he goes over the 4:30 minute mark and it gets too repetitive, I just tune out. The shorter "electronic instrumental tracks" are not great either and hurt the album IMO.

Still investigating the new Manson but pretty impressed so far. However, without a doubt my favorite so far is Napalm Death - Apex Predator: Easy Meat. If there are any metal fans out there who haven't heard it yet, correct that as quickly as possible.

These are the two best new rock records I've heard so far this year. They may also be the only two new rock records I've heard so far this year.
