Saw that very same show, couldn't believe how good they were ( and I'm a Zappa fan!) Glad to know there were other converts that night!
Just over a year ago... Seeing the great Amy Helm (Levon’s daughter) opening for Tedeschi Trucks Band. She was fantastic! I wish she could’ve played longer. She had just three pieces backing her, and it was all she needed. Absolutely making her daddy proud, wherever he may be. Along with a bunch of strong originals, she acknowledged her roots with a killer “When I Paint My Maaterpiece,” but the real standout of the night was another Dylan compositon: A bluesy reinterpretation of “Meet Me in the Morning.” Just stunning. I hope she records it at some point. It’ll easily be one of my favorite Dylan covers ever if she does. Here’s a version with a lot more backing, but still great: After her performance, before TTB came on, she signed CD’s out in the lobby of the theatre. Very friendly, and I was glad I picked up her CD Didn’t It Rain. Here’s the title song: AMY HELM - "Didn't it Rain" (Live at Telluride Blues & Brews 2014) #JAMINTHEVAN - YouTube
I forgot about that! Yeah, I saw them on the Steel Wheels tour. Living Colour was great! I didn’t keep up with them much after Vivid, but I have read good things about them in more recnent years. I should catch up with them.

Echo & The Bunnymen opened for New Order in 1987 at one of the pier concerts in NYC. That was a good one.
Not sure what you mean. I do remember setting on the tour bus with Andrew one night, as he complained that Dogs got better groupies/female fans than he did. I loved Andrew, he was such a great funny character. I was heartbroken when he died. (wow, I'd completely forgotten about that episode until your question sparked the ole memory)
Same for me, except I didn't sit through it I was in the Mosh Pit within touching distance of Ian Curtis (I have long arms ). That was a memorable week in my life. I was in my second year at University. In the one week I saw The Undertones, Joy Division and Buzzcocks, I celebrated the last day of my teens then my twentieth birthday (all on different days). More recent ... The Pineapple Thief supporting Blackfield (though I already had several TPT albums) Daniel Cavanagh supporting No-Man. Through this I discovered Anathema. Not really a support act, but the opening act at a festival... The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. They came on stage early and had a fifteen minute 'soundcheck' for which they got a standing ovation. No act bettered them that day.
