I picked two but easily could have chosen two others. You weren’t kidding about good this round would be, Hollow Horse! :righton:

But I know what's winning this round, and it isn't either one of those.

I plumped for the two tracks I think will hardly pull much at all, Soft As Snow (But Warm Inside) and I Will Follow.

Boy is one fine album and that song I feel opens it well.

Actually looking again at the contenders, it will be interesting to see how this group pans out - some fine songs here.

I've noticed another typo too (must look out for these or drink less Shiraz) - The Beatles now have a song called The Magical Mysystery Tour

Baba O'Riley is just as striking and powerful today as it was the day it was released.

As soon as you put a thread out there where Brighton Rock by Queen is on it, you can close all of these others

LOL I don't think that's even in this.

I quite like the movie though.

I'd vote for Put Me On by Styx from the lp Crystal Ball if it were on it.[maybe it's on a different poll or maybe Styx isn't 'serious music?']

Baba O'Riley is probably the greatest opening song of all time, so even though I enjoy most of the others, it's no contest.

    Easy one!

    Tom Petty & Cat Stevens.

Haven't heard My Bloody Valentine's song but the rest pale in comparison to these two.

I'd say Styx was serious. In the UK we got to hear 'Babe' and that was about as far as it went. I'm also willing to squeeze Brighton Rock in to keep the customer satisfied.

    @englishbob @redfloatboat

Brighton Rock IS in this, comes up in Group 9 next week. Styx have now replaced Alanis Morisette in tomorrow's Group 6 - why? Because it's all I really want.

    Television - See No Evil
    Who - Baba O'Riley

But, more importantly, when will we get to vote for The Clash's London Calling?

Although Marquee Moon is the better album, U2's I will Follow is such a great song.

Free fallin' too and MMT too.

This was easy. Because if there are MBV and Television I have to go for 'em!

And Led Zeps. I don't think anybody cares about the opening songs. I'm affraid it's just another artist versus artist.

Sunday! It will be alongside Happy Mondays, A Tribe Called Quest, Interpol, The Band, Electric Light Orchestra, The Jesus And Mary Chain and Elvis Costello.
