What’s your favourite on this gem?
I’ve yet to hear it besides one track (which I love) but it’s been on the list for awhile and I’m looking forward to listening to it.

Bonus question: What’s the best version of this album available? Out of the alternate mixes, the remasters etc. there’s a few options for me on Apple Music and I’m a little lost.

The only one I liked Alone Again Or. Great track.

The first three songs are perfect to me. Hard to choose.
    I'll go with Andmoreagain.

I love the ending of A House is not A Motel

Same here, and that started the first time I heard it, probably in 1968 on an AM top 40 local rinky-dink station that played... Top 40.

Another vote for Alone Again Or.... The first time I heard this album and that trumpet solo kicked in, I knew that I was in for a treat.

Not Alone Again Or. It's great, but I find The Red Telephone, Live And Let Live and You Set The Scene much more poignant.

You Set the Scene... perfect ending to a perfect album! There is an alternate version with an extra verse that is good too.

You Set the Scene, edging out ... Between Clark and Hilldale.

I'd probably rank Alone Again Or after those. It has several nice covers, such as by UFO and the Damned.

Good LP, which I disliked intensely when I bought it c. 1969. I'm pretty sure it was the first LP I bought off a review. The review was right, and I wasn't.

Ok! Definitely unblock your ears and listen to this album.
It's funny that you started a poll for an album you never listened to.

    :--)

Ps: there are threads that talk about which version of FC is the best. You should
    definitely check 'em out.

Haha, yeah got a cold so I can't hear anything.
And yeah sometimes I make these polls on albums I'm interested in so I can see the highlights and come back and compare :)

Oh man I adore The Good Humour Man. Phenomenal. Such a unique song. Every listen I like it more. I’m estatic about the rest of the album.

On most days my top pick would be “The Good Humor Man” followed closely by “The Red Telephone,”

The grandiose closer "You Set the Scene" gets my vote--but "The Red Telephone" is pretty close.

"You Set the Scene" is the 10/10 for me... no song ranks below 8.5, though.

A top ten album from 1967 for sure.

I voted for "Forever Changes" - the singular 40-minute song on this album.

:sigh: "Bummer In The Summer" is the only really bad song on an otherwise flawless album.

I chose "The Daily Planet" but it changes.

  24. It's a tough one when every single song on an album is brilliant, but it's 'You Set The Scene' for me. Btw I don't agree that 'Bummer In The Summer' is a weak link, I used to think that (before I'd clocked up more than a hundred Forever Changes listens) now I love it. On a side note - is Arthur channeling/impersonating Dylan on 'Bummer In The Summer'?

Is this one of those albums that works as a single piece?
