...the moment when the full band kicks in...it's so intense! I love this performance >>>

Yea, incredible performance, I wish NBC would let people see it again. One of the best covers ever. Kind of a shame to keep it sealed up. Is this available on a DVD?

I respectfully disagree. Too fast, no swing.

    This is how it's done:

I've always loved this duet performance of Matthew Sweet's 1991 classic:

Not the best I have seen overall, but pardon this wrinkle: best holiday song performance I think I've seen. Darlene Love "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on Letterman Dec. 2014. I feel it was especially soulful as everyone knew that this was the last time she would perform this song on the show after having done this as a holiday tradition for many years.

I remember seeing this on an MTV New Year's Eve special and being blown away.

Released on this SNL collection. Set includes the entire series, no truncated episodes and missing musical guests like with the Fridays collection.

Just heard this song today, so I was inspired to find a live version of it, and it is great! In 1979, it was about a robot prostitute, but now it has a whole new meaning in this cyberworld of ours.

The one that sticks in my mind is the Cowboy Junkies on Austin City Limits. The voice, the songs and the instrumentation were a perfect trifecta that night.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Under the Bridge from Saturday Night Live in 1992. I was recently introduced to this imperfect masterpiece of a performance:

I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn on tour years ago and The Fabulous Thunderbirds opened.

For the encore, Stevie and Jimmy played the same double neck. One of my all time fave live moments!
