Mine has matrix numbers as follows:

    A: MS2242 31966-1C
    B: MS2242 31967-1E

I probably purchased mine circa 1980.

Absolutely one of his, or anyone's, best. I never felt the CD did the album justice, though. I am hoping for a remastered version soon.

What needs remastering here? Just curious.

I thought I just heard a great 16-track analog recording done right.

I know just a few musicians these days that record close to this sound.

Mine is also a 1H/1H, and it is outstanding. I can't imagine a remastering coming out with better sound. Not too hard to locate a great copy, and the music of course is incredible.

Yes, please remaster some hard to find 90s music from the analog tapes. I'm sure you'd agree.

I got a copy for nothing, trashed cover, and an inaudible warp, but the thing sounds fantastic.

    Side 1: MS 2242 31966 1B
    Side 2: MS 2242 31967 1L

I agree with Mike and Joe - this needs no remastering.

I recently picked up a 1A/1B first pressing for $10. It looks well worn, but it plays like a dream. Almost dead silent. I had a chance to pick up a minty black label Tonight's The Night from the same place and I passed. That was probably a dumb move.

I picked up the recent reissue by Warner Music from Germany on Amazon for $12. It sounds great, very clean, flat pressing. Sonically, it's great. Perhaps an original sounds better, but I don't see any reason to upgrade.

I have a French original -sounds exquisite, despite being a little beat up.

The new Archives vinyl release sounds exquisite. My only point of comparison is the CD, however.

Is this the one on Amazon UK for ten squids ?

Highly unlikely. It's the one that comes in the boxset with Time Fades Away, On The Beach and Tonight's The Night that hasn't been properly released yet. Some copies have been in sale in Europe over the last few months.

Original US pressing sounds fantastic. I am dubious about the remaster although the first 4 did turn out very good.

    Side one ms 2242 31966 - 1H
    Side two ms 2242 31967 - 1G

Righto. The one on Amazon US and UK appears to be from 2002, is very cheap and has no shortage of great reviews.

I'd wait. The one in the box should get an individual release and while it will cost circa £25 it's worth it.

Thanks. Do you have a link to this box, information or retail?

I like my day-of-release Reprise LP lots. Purchased at Korvettes, November '75.

I bought my copy in November '75 at Sam Goodies, right after I heard the WNEW=FM dj play "Stupid Girl" and then exclaim "sounds like Neil's ANGRY again!" Once I heard those great guitars playing off each other I made a beeline to the record store and bought a copy.
