I somehow missed this among monumental rock performances.

This TT performance reminds me of Robert Plant when he'd do songs like "Blueberry Hill".

Pure sex. There were surely many letters of complaint and calls for heightened censorship after that.

I like it when Ed forces the mic out of Mr. Tim's hand at the end!

Why did he keep touching his chest like that? :wtf:

I'm sorry but Tiny Tim was creepy. At least to me.

He was also... I'm not going to say great with kids, but less traumatizing to children than Klaus Nomi or Bob Dylan.

Other guests that night included Stiller & Meara, Flip Wilson, Sonny James, the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, Flip Wilson, and Miss Vicki.

Someone wrote that The Enchanted Forest was added to his act to provide a little more contemporaneous beat to Tiny Tim’s repertoire. Allegedly he’d met the band while performing in the Bahamas during his honeymoon with his child bride, Miss Vicki. In the spring of 1970, Miss Vicki suffered a miscarriage in Houston, Texas, while touring with her husband and this band. After learning of Vicki’s loss, Johnny Carson offered to perform in Houston in Tiny Tim’s place. The couple had been married on Carson’s Tonight Show just a few weeks prior to TT’s Ed Sullivan appearance seen in this clip. In “the show must go on” tradition, TT did both shows the night Miss Vicki was hospitalized.

I dont know what was freakier, seeing Tiny Tim perform again (I had not seen him since I was a child) or watching Ed stoop over Tiny Tim in such bizzare fashion.

My mother loved Tiny Tim. He seemed to be popular with almost everyone around that time. I remember thinking he was kind of cool too. I have absolutely no clue as to why I thought so or why others thought so. Surely one of the most odd characters to ever step on a stage.

Maybe it was the oddness and that he acted like he wasn't odd?

Never understood how anyone could possibly like Tiny Tim. Just. Don't. Get. It.
