Newbury Comics release of Big Star's "Radio City" isn't bad, but it's not great. It came with a couple of skips, which I was able to clean out. But, it was mastered too hot. You can't really hear the detail in the middle, acoustic registers. It's nice in the high and low spectrum, but not much in between. There's nothing like the original, of course, but I'd take the the Back to Black pressing over this.

The Classic puts drummer Jody Stephens in the room.

So I've heard. I have the original Ardent. It's all there....including Jody. Completely balanced. Are you telling me that the 'Classic' release is better than the original version?

Wouldn't know, I've never heard it, and now I don't need to.

I'm with you. I have no idea why I bought this record, but I have it. I don't need another copy to compare it to.

I like this new pressing, sounds nice and no skips, no playing issues, and the red/white is beautiful. It might be digital, but it's clean and smooth. At least my copy is. I can hear all registers in the music fine. I like how smooth it plays even at side endings near labels.
