I love his singing on this album. He’s on fire. Would love to hear the MoFi.

This thread persuaded me to return to vinyl in a limited way.
Dylan and Sinatra only, Sinatra and Dylan.
I've been catching up with MoFi's vinyl Dylan releases.
Each month I buy a couple more MoFi's. Still need several MoFi's.
I'm leaving them in the shrinkwrap until I get my vintage stereo components finalized. Analog all the way except for the AudioTechnica turntable. The speakers are a challenge.

Has anyone heard which album will be next? I hope they choose from Street Legal, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid and Infidels.

    Okay.
I wonder how the mix will turn out without Roger McGuinn to guide it along.

I have the sacds for both and I think there is a thread on the sacds. I only have the vinyl (MFSL) for The Basements. It is fine in my opinion but these vinyl MFSL releases are jolly expensive in the UK and although they are great there are cheaper vinyl options. Fortunately the MFSL vinyl releases don't number too many in any one year.

I've been out of the game for a while. Busy summer, busier fall, parenthood, home remodel, the list goes on. However, I did notice on the music direct site that Pat Garrett is getting the MOFI treatment. That is pretty exciting news, albeit old news. I just love the whole album and if I had to choose a least favorite track it would certainly be the beloved "Knockin'". Street Legal would be a beautiful release @ 45rpm

I mean, I would buy it of course, LOL, but the original master tapes for Street Legal I don’t think deserve the audiophile treatment. Great album, awful recording. Worst recorded Dylan album ever, by far.

They can't hurt it. They can only make it better.
Especially if they ask Steve Hoffman to do the mixing.

The guy who cuts the records for MoFi is just fine.

Agreed. MoFi doesn’t require Steve Hoffman or for that matter Kevin Gray or Bernie Grundman to cut their records. The guy they have is excellent.

No one doubted or challenged the MoFi team.

Steve Hoffman expressed interest in working on Street Legal in a Street Legal
thread, and where there is interest and enthusiasm on the part of a pro there is
usually the insight to do it right.

    So there.

can you imagine how amazing a MOFI of Slow Train would sound... Always loved the groove of the album - I'm sure they will get to it eventually, once they've done Knocked Out Loaded first.

I would buy Street Legal and Slow Train Coming. Maybe Infidels. But after that, besides the ones already done, I wouldn't go for any others.

  24. Sony LP of Slow Train is actually very good.

  25. Street Legal is an unlikely candidate for MFSL as it is a low-fi recording, whether you rate the album or not. It doesnt enjoy the acclaim of Blood or even Desire.
